Giuseppe's Italian Ristorante

My family went downtown Friday evening to try out the newest restaurant down there: Giuseppe's Italian Ristorante. Giuseppe's is owned by the son of the origianl owner of Mamma Maria's. Giuseppe's is located in the old EJ Lander building next to Bonzer's on DeMers Ave. There is plenty of parking nearby, whether is it street parking, the parking garage south of Empire Arts Center, the parking lot west of 5th St. or just around the corner.

You can smell the Italian food right when you get out of the car. The entry was has a very small space to sit while waiting for your table. Seating is limited to around 40 people in tables of 2, 4 or 5 persons. On Friday and Saturday evenings they host a vocal artist name Jenny Morris from 6-9 p.m. She sings jazz and easy listening with digital accompaniment. Her voice is a perfect fit for the restaurant.

Once seated our service was fast and our food came out hot. Of course they first set you up with a basket of bread and your drinks (no alcohol is served on the premises).

There was definitely a mix of people there on Friday night:  from a newly engaged couple, to a few families with small children and a local news personality there with friends. The doorway always seemed to be filled with waiting parties.

Giuseppe's is open from 4:00 - 10:00 p.m. Tueday-Saturday and closed on Sunday and Monday. They serve a mix of Italian food and also have a kids menu. Party trays are available too. For more information, hours or reservations, call 701-757-1020 or visit them at 414 DeMers Ave.

Spring is in the Air at All Seasons Garden Center

I spent part of Sunday, May 7th, attending "Kid's Day" at All Seasons Garden Center in Grand Forks.  While All Seasons is a local favorite for home interior and exterior floral decorating and landscaping, they opened their doors on Sunday to the kids.

I took my two little ones, and we participated in crafts, games, pony-carriage rides and other activities.  There were lots of yummy treats, face painting, balloons and more.  Of course, we visited the bunnies, fish, birds and ducks that are always present at the garden center and a favorite of animal lovers.

This fun event also gave adults the opportunity to get geared up for spring planting by checking out their greenhouses and gardens.

Thanks so much to All Seasons for a fun family day in Greater Grand Forks!  For more inforamtion about All Seasons, check out their website allseasonsgarden.com.
