Drink the wine and walk the Walk

Today’s blogger is Shelley from the Greater Grand Forks Convention & Visitors Bureau. She writes about the last Art & Wine Walk she attended in June. The next one is this Saturday, July 21, at 1 p.m.   Who doesn’t enjoy sipping flavorful wines on a beautiful summer day…especially when you’re able to view wonderful works of art and do some shopping at the same time?  If that sounds like fun to you, too, make sure and check out the next Art & Wine Walk on July 21.   This distinctive event happens every year, June through October, on the third Saturday of each month.  It runs from 1 to 5 p.m. and takes place solely in Greater Grand Forks’ beautiful downtown district.  To begin, simply head to one of the starting points – the Blue Moose Bar & Grill or GuestHouse Inn – and purchase a wristband and map of participating businesses.  The cost is just $15, which is quite a deal considering you get four hours of great entertainment and wine, of course!   I’ve always considered myself more of a sassy white girl (at least when it comes to my wine choices) so I preferred locations serving …

The 2012 Official Visitor Guide has arrived, and it is…simply grand

65,ooo copies of the most informative and comprehensive guide about Greater Grand Forks arrived today at the Greater Grand Forks Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB).  The guide, along with all 2012  marketing materials have a fresh new look while keeping the same level of quality, which the CVB has become known for, as well as the “simply grand” messaging synonymous with Greater Grand Forks. The guide will be distributed at local hotels and businesses; Minnesota and North Dakota statewide information centers; CAA offices in Manitoba; through One Fulfillment (ND Tourism Division distribution program); University of North Dakota; Grand Forks Air Force Base; and Grand Forks International Airport.  Organizations such as Altru Health System, The Chamber and Economic Development Corporation use the guide in recruitment efforts.  The CVB also distributes the guide in the Visitor Information Center (serving approximately 20,000 visitors per year), at trade shows, in event hospitality packets and visitor inquiry packets.  The guide may also be downloaded via www.visitgrandforks.com.
