44th Annual UND Writers Conference

The UND Writers Conference is a literary festival, consisting of approximately 40 hours of free programming over five days. This event is free and open to the public. The theme for the 44th Annual Conference is "A Potrait of an Artist", which aims to bring together authors/artists who create characters in their work that are authors/artists, who draw on personal experience in their work, who may write creative non-fiction, and/or those who comment on the role of the author/artist in contemporary culture. Pulitzer Prize winning playwright and 2013 Oscar nominee Taylor Kushner will join the event as well as Cheryl Strayed, whose memoir Wild was the inaugural selection for Oprah's Book Club 2.0 and is being adapted to film by Reese Witherspoon's production company.
