The Community Violence Intervention Center invites you to a one-hour tour to find out answers to questions about violence occurring right here in our community. What happens to the 900 children we currently have living with violence in our community? How are we working with others to stop the cycle of violence once and for all? You will have the opportunity to see the center's work firsthand. You won't be asked for a financial contribution, but we would appreciate your advice and feedback on our programs and tour. An R.S.V.P is required. Space is limited, so sigh up early! Tours are held at CVIC offices, 211 S 4th St., rear entrance.

The ANIMAL KINGDOM This exhibition of work by artists from across the North American continent is being developed in conjunction with Museum’s Rural School Initiative. A smaller version of the show will travel throughout the State. Tour begins February 2009. The goal is to present a wide array of wacky, whimsical, and outrageous takes on the human and animal conditions that will appeal to a vast audience of all ages. VIVIENNE MORGAN: PHOTOGRAPHS (working title) Vivienne Morgan’s first museum exhibition is part of Museum’s efforts to nurture artists from region. According to Morgan, “I’m English—not a snow lover—but the weather in northern Minnesota fills me with nostalgia for England in winter. I’ve lived in the United States for all these years and I’ve never taken American citizenship. Sooner or later I must make a choice. I’ve been thinking about what it means to migrate and immigrate. What it means to fly, to change, to slow down or grow ill, perhaps grow better or stronger, but to inevitably grow old, and to finally stop in one place. This meditation on acceptance, conducted through my photography, has led me to look locally for places that remind me of England, of Europe, to find solace or perhaps as a point of compromise.”
