Classes designed to teach kids what to do if they find themselves lost.  Each participant will learn to build a fire, how to signal for help and what to do to ensure they are rescued.  At the end of the class, participants will go outside and show off their skills by building a shelter, a fire on snow and boiling water to drink. All participants are required to be accompanied by an adult. Pre registration is required. Class dates are February 4th & 11th from 10am - 2pm. The fee for the class is $5.00 per participant. Living Through Violence: The Oncebay Textile Family Exhibition on Display February 12 - March 20 Opening Reception Sunday, February 12, 2-4pm This Peruvian textile family comes from Ayachuco, the birthplace of the Shining Path, a Maoist guerrilla organization. During the most dangerous period, Saturnino gathered his family of textile workers and they taught themselves to make the pre-Columbian textiles of Paracas, the place where the textile arts reached heights unattained anywhere or during any time period. The textiles are accompanied by photographs that present a compelling look at political violence in Peru between 1980 and 2000. For more information, contact the Museum at 701-777-4195 or visit our website at www.ndmoa.com. The Museum is located on UND's Campus at 261 Centennial Drive (by Twamley Hall). Parking is available at the parking meters to the north of the Museum.

December 11: Winter Reading Program Kick-off Party, 2 p.m. The Winter Reading Program Kick-off Party will include a Children's book sale, a short performance by ATA Tae Kwon Do, a bounce house, and student-athlete volunteers from the University of North Dakota. The Winter Reading Program is for students in grades K-6. It is done in partnership with the University of North Dakota Athletic Department. Sign up for the Winter Reading Program begins at the kick-off party, and continues throughout the program. There will be weekly programs, usually on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., with student-athlete volunteers. The Final Party will be February 11th at the Betty prior to a UND women’s basketball game. All participants in grades K-6 who complete the 8 hour reading requirement will receive a free ticket to the game and have their name entered into a drawing to win fun prizes donated by the UND Athletic Department. December 18: Kids in the Kitchen with Noelle Myers, 2 p.m. Please join us for Kids in the Kitchen with Noelle Myers. Kids will prepare fun Holiday themed snacks. Sign up is limited to 50. This event is a part of the Winter Reading Program. The Winter Reading Program is for students in grades K-6. It is done in partnership with the University of North Dakota Athletic Department.
