The people of Greater Grand Forks receive health care services through Altru Health System and MeritCare Clinic. Altru Health system is a not-for-profit health care system serving the residents of northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. With 3,400 employees, Altru Health System includes a 277-bed acute care hospital, a cancer center, a 34-bed rehabilitation center, three local clinics and 14 regional clinics. MeritCare is a non-profit, community-owned health system based in Fargo, ND. The MeritCare Clinic in East Grand Forks opened its doors in August 2000 and serves the cities with primary care, specialty care and pediatric services. The clinic utilizes the latest medical office practice standards including: telehealth technology, electronics patient records, digital X-rays and the convenience of same day appointments.
