Lights, Santa, skating and more all in Lincoln Park

Email

Every holiday season Lincoln Park is aglow with holiday light displays. The best part, you can see them all from your warm, cozy car! Lions’ Christmas in the Park hosts light displays sponsored by local businesses and organizations. Each year, businesses design a light display that is places along Lincoln Park Drive. Visitors to the park can then drive through the park loop and view all the displays. And, if you don’t mind a little winter chill, you can even pop on your cross-country skis or snowshoes (or rent some for the Lincoln Park warming house) and glide by the light display.

Lions’ Christmas in the Park is open until December 31, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., with special hours extended to midnight on December 31. The cost is $5 per car, $10 per limosine and $20 per bus. Proceeds are used by the Lions Club to increase contributions to worthwhile charities and projects in the community.

Also in Lincoln Park is the extremely popular Santa’s Village. Each year Santa and his elves set up their workshop at the Lincoln Golf Course Clubhouse. Families are invited to come create crafts, play games, read a book with the elves or Mrs. Claus, listen to cheerful holiday music, go on a horse-drawn sleigh ride, drink some cocoa and have a cookie too. And, at Santa Village you will find some of the most beautifully decorated trees in Grand Forks. Over thirty adorned trees, each one decorated with a different theme, fill the clubhouse, making Santa’s Village even more magical.

Admission to Santa’s Village is simply a non-perishable food time, new toy or cash donation per person. All proceeds are donated to the local food shelf, Toys for Tots and those who need it most in our community.

Santa’s Villlage is open to the public for one moere weeknd, Decmeber 19-22, Thursday and Friday 4 to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday 12 noon to 6 p.m.

Come for the lights and Santa then spend the rest of the day enjoying many other winter weather activities in the park. Two sledding hills for the kids, ice skating and hockey rinks, and ski, skate and snowshoe rentals are available at the warming house, so you can ski the groomed trails along the Greenway.

Make sure to make a family holiday outing to Lincoln Park this holiday season. It is sure to get you in the spirit!
