Cold weather got you down? Sick of being cooped up inside? Looking for a recreational activity to get you moving? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, then it’s time to partake in some seasonal fun.
Greater Grand Forks provides residents and visitors lots of opportunities to keep fit and have a great time all at once. Whether you want to pretend you’re legendary like Wayne Gretzky or Michelle Kwan, both the Grand Forks and East Grand Forks Park Districts have scheduled times for open skating. If you’d rather camel spin Downtown, the Town Square Ice Rink is just your cup of tea (or hot chocolate). The whole family can also take in a day of sledding or cross-country skiing in Lincoln Drive Park.
When it’s too blustery outside, then give cosmic bowling a try inside at Red Ray Lanes. The kids will definitely enjoy the playground equipment at First Seasons Community Center or splashing around in our indoor water parks: Canad Inns Destination Center and Choice Health & Fitness. Northern Air Family Fun Center features a trampoline park, laser tag and lots of inflatables, while UND Wellness Center gives the entire community a chance to climb the walls once a month (February 24, March 24 and April 14).
As you can see, there are plenty of ways to make those long winter days go by just a little bit faster. For more information on any of the following activities, please go to www.visitgrandforks.com.
