The Blues on the Red Music Fest made its fourth year successful debut on June 25. Hundreds of attendees filled Town Square for great music and food! Check out what you missed here! If you couldn’t make it out, don’t worry. Dates, along with scheduled artists, for the remaining Blues on the Red events are as follows: Saturday, July 23 with headliner Big George Jackson and opener Peat Moss Saturday August 24 with headliner Lamont Cranston Band and opener Austin James Band Major sponsors of Blues on the Red are the City of Grand Forks, Canad Inns Destination Center and the Convention & Visitors Bureau. The music begins at 6 p.m. and lasts until 10 p.m. There is also a beer garden and food vending area hosted by Canad Inns. Admission is free to all, and people are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be moved indoors. Want to stay updated? Become a friend on Facebook!
I am so excited that Blues on the Red will be kicking off the three-part music series this Saturday, June 25, in Town Square! This is one of my favorite events, as it provides a winning combination of great music, food and beverages and lots of fun all outdoors in downtown Grand Forks. I am going to grab some friends and lawn chairs and head downtown for the free event. The June Blues on the read will feature guitartist, singer and songwriter, James Armstrong, from Michigan. The Deb Jenkins Band from Fargo will open the show at 6 p.m. After the four-hour music show, I plan to head over to one of my favorite downtown businesses for more fun. Not sure yet whether that will be The Frog, Blue Moose or Rhombus yet, and it may be all three! Two more shows will be coming on July 23 and August 27. Bands will include Big George Jackson, Lamont Cranston, PeatMoss and the Austin James Band.
