A day for the girls at the Grand Forks Women’s Show


Today’s blog is written by local business woman and blogger, Michaela Schell.   Every so often, we ladies get a girls night out, but it is not very often we get an entire day out! Saturday, October 26th is that day. The Grand Forks Women’s Show returns for its 6th year and brings everything a woman could want. The GFWS packs the Alerus Center Arena with fashion and beauty, hobbies and careers, food and wine, and everything in between.   The GFWS Main Stage is full this year. The day starts with a yoga calss and demonstration from Choice Health & Fitness and the Altru YMCA. Guests are encouraged to jump in and participate. Marilyn Hagerty takes the stage at 11 a.m. for an interview on her new book. She will also share her various experiences on the Anderson Cooper Show, the Today Show and her trips to New York, At noon 401 E Engery of Grand Forks will give us 10 tips on keeping your home energy efficient and save money followed by a Zumba demonstrative from Choice Health & Fitness.   The final Main Stage event is one of the most popular. My simply grand week…

ND Museum of Art Concerts in the Garden

This is going to be a great week in the Grand Cities!  I am looking forward to enjoying all that the town has to offer in the summer.  This is just a sample of my plans for the week… Tonight I have a meeting, but it won’t be without fun and great food, as it is taking place at the new restaurant, Jake’s.  Since I have only been there once, I am really excited to check out some of their food especially the Red Pepper Lavosh. On Tuesday I will grab the family and head over to the ND Museum of Art for the third installment of the 2011 Concerts in the Garden music series.  The Boston-based band and critically acclaimed, David Wax Museum, will headline while local artist, Xavier Pastrano, will open the show at 6 p.m.  Tickets are $5 in advance or $8 at the door, and there is great food including burgers and brats available in the museum’s garden.  With a weather prediction of mostly sunny and 75 degrees what more could we need?
