Convention & Visitors Bureau launches new website and mobile site

The Greater Grand Forks Convention & Visitors Bureau is excited to announce the launch of a new website at visitgrandforks.com and a new mobile website at mobile.visitgrandforks.com.   The new website will meet the needs and wants of potential visitors faster and better than ever with event and discount suggestions, impactful images and videos and easy navigation.  Just some of the new features include:   -With every listing that has a deal or discount accompanying it, the offer will appear next to the name of the business, so visitors know if any special deals are available.   -Each listing will include an image and video (when available) allowing a visitor to have more of an experience before making travel decisions.   -Upcoming and featured events appear on the homepage, so visitors can see right away what is happening in the Grand Cities.   -The Event Planner section offers a new and improved event planner tool (mini website), which allows event planners to process credit card transactions for their events and conventions.   -As with the former site, the Convention & Visitors Bureau will continue with contests, a blog about exciting news in Greater Grand Forks, an updated lodging availability page, …

The 2012 Official Visitor Guide has arrived, and it is…simply grand

65,ooo copies of the most informative and comprehensive guide about Greater Grand Forks arrived today at the Greater Grand Forks Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB).  The guide, along with all 2012  marketing materials have a fresh new look while keeping the same level of quality, which the CVB has become known for, as well as the “simply grand” messaging synonymous with Greater Grand Forks. The guide will be distributed at local hotels and businesses; Minnesota and North Dakota statewide information centers; CAA offices in Manitoba; through One Fulfillment (ND Tourism Division distribution program); University of North Dakota; Grand Forks Air Force Base; and Grand Forks International Airport.  Organizations such as Altru Health System, The Chamber and Economic Development Corporation use the guide in recruitment efforts.  The CVB also distributes the guide in the Visitor Information Center (serving approximately 20,000 visitors per year), at trade shows, in event hospitality packets and visitor inquiry packets.  The guide may also be downloaded via www.visitgrandforks.com. Have you taken in a show our two at the Greater Grand Forks Community Theatre (aka Fire Hall Theatre)?  If not, you don’t know what your missing.  This community organization has been a mainstay in Greater Grand Forks for 64 years, and produces a variety of shows that showcase the fabulous talent in our region. The 2011-2012 season has launched with some fabulous theater including: “Bell, Book & Candle” – October 13-29 (this week is the final showing) Gillian Holroyd is one of the few modern people who can actually cast spells and perform supernatural feats.  She casts a spell over an unattached publisher, Shepherd Henderson, partly because she is attracted to him.  He falls head over heals in love with her at once and wants to marry her.  But witches, unfortunately, cannot fall in love, and this minute imperfection leads to a number of difficulties.  Will Gillian choose love over tradition?  And will Shepherd choose a mortal woman over Gillian?  It’s a “Bewitching” predicament. “A Christmas Carol” – December 6-17 Focusing on Dickens’ powerful language, humor and warmth, this charming drama tells the story of the redemption of a human soul.  The play follows the ever-powerful story of Scrooge, …
