Celebrate the spirit of the season and our nation’s natural resources when the U.S. Capitol Christmas tree comes to Grand Forks on Sunday, November 19, from 9 to 12 PM, in Town Square (corner of DeMers Ave & 3rd St).
The Kootenai National Forest in partnership with nonprofit Choose Outdoors will bring this special gift from Montana to the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Festivities being held while the tree is in Grand Forks will include; a formal Proclamation by Grand Forks City Mayor Michael Brown, a live remote feed by Leighton Broadcasting, complimentary hot chocolate and donuts, and a Winter Market featuring seasonal craft and food vendors. There will be opportunities to view the truck and sign the official Capitol Christmas tree banner from 9 to 10 AM. Activities will last from 9 AM to 12 PM and are open to the public and free for all to enjoy!
