The Grand Forks 10 has quickly become one of the region’s signature late‑summer running events — a weekend built around community, movement, and showing off the best parts of the city. At its core, it highlights the spirit of local runners with a social Friday‑night 5K, live music that includes the infectious energy of the Island Steel Drum Duo, and a Saturday atmosphere that welcomes everyone from first‑timers to seasoned racers. Approachable, energetic, and rooted in the idea that running should feel shared rather than solitary, the event enters its 6th year offering three distances — 5K, 10K, and 10M — and inviting the entire community to take part in a tradition that continues to grow.
The 5K is run entirely along the North Dakota side of the Greenway, while the 10K and 10M courses begin on the Sorlie Bridge and travel through downtown Grand Forks, University Ave, the UND campus, and both the Grand Forks and East Grand Forks Greenway. All races finish at the flood obelisk just south of the Sorlie Bridge, creating a unified finish line that brings the whole weekend together.
