Thornton Wilder’s Our Town is a deceptively simple, deeply moving portrait of life in small-town America at the turn of the 20th century. Narrated by the all-knowing Stage Manager, the play sweeps us through the births, loves, and losses of Grover’s Corners’ residents, revealing how life’s seemingly ordinary moments—stringing beans, sharing gossip, walking home from choir—are, in fact, extraordinary. As the story moves from youthful innocence to the sobering realities of death, Our Town becomes both a celebration and a gentle reminder: we rarely realize the value of a moment until it’s gone.
