#FeelingGrand Inside and Out

While we are seeing more and more businesses starting to reopen, some people still may not feel comfortable going out due to COVID-19 concerns. This “no judgement zone” blog will offer you two ways – homebound and home free – to have some SimplyGrand fun in Forks!

SHOP TILL YOU DROP

Whether online or in-store, our two towns have several one of kind shops offering cute and cool items galore. For gifts, many with an ND/MN twist, give CURIOUS or Kittsona a try. If you wanna spruce up your home, make the locally owned and operated Sterling Carpet One your first stop. Along with quality flooring of every type, they offer custom cabinetry and furniture, decorating and design services, siding, lighting and more. If you’re looking to adorn yourself, Ann Love, RH Standard, Pretty b, Key Bliss, Mainstream, Northern Roots and Eastside’s Simply boutique offer stylish, reasonably priced clothing and accessories to make you stand out in a crowd (6 feet apart, of course).

BE A GAMER

Searching for a store that sells a variety of board games? Take a clue from Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock and me…head to Broken Sentry Games in Columbia Mall! This locally owned gem features a large selection of games (miniatures and trading cards, too) that will transition you from bored to board. If you’re 21+ and would like to imbibe while you play, we’ve got several watering holes that will safely accommodate you. The Office Pub & Grub, Joe Black’s, Southgate and The Loft offer plenty of pool tables and games of chance. Consider yourself a pinball wizard or foosball aficionado? Rhombus Guys Brewing Company offers both, in addition to serving some of the best beers around.

DINE AL FRESCO

In our Forks, life can literally be a walk in the park! Now that spring has finally sprung, it’s a perfect time to pack a picnic and head to your favorite green space. However, I say why make it yourself when we have several restaurants offering tasty takeout. A few of my top spots to pick up a sandwich are Grand Junction Grilled Subs, Smiling Moose Deli and of course, The Red Pepper for one of their legendarily delicious Grinders. Burn off a few of those oh-so-worth-it calories by taking a stroll with your plus-one.

BOOK IT

Even though our public libraries remain closed, you can still find a great read at Ferguson Books & More. This novel store offers both new and used books, DVDs, games and toys. Stop by on a Saturday or Sunday, from 8 AM to 1 PM, for the “Brunch Pop-up” and you can also enjoy some scrumptious French Taste LLC crepes! Peruse their inventory and place an online order at FergusonBooks.com.

SWING AWAY

Dust off those clubs, don your best golf attire, then tee off in Forks! Overlooking the Red River, Eastside’s Valley Golf Course features rolling terrain and beautiful fairways that are challenging to all levels. Established in 1909, Lincoln was our community’s very first golf facility. Lincoln is a 9-hole par 35 course which offers legendary views and everything you need to have a great game. Experience one of North Dakota’s finest championship courses at the Arnold Palmer designed King’s Walk. This 18-hole links-style course serves up all the amenities an avid golfer could want plus a clubhouse restaurant, Eagle’s Crest Grill, where you can order some of the best food in town.

In order to safely serve customers during this time, business owners request everyone follow GFSmart Restart guidelines as posted.
