SimplyGrand ways to spend Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Don’t have any plans yet for you and your significant other? No worries, our two Forks offer up lots of options for one #SimplyGrand date!

UPSCALE AFFAIR

Celebrate on February 13th instead by treating your 5-star date to a 5-star dinner up high at Sky’s that includes classic cocktails, crab cakes, a king or queen cut of herb roasted prime rib and a beautiful 2nd story view of Downtown.  Feeling like dessert and a nightcap?  Mere blocks away, at The Toasted Frog, you’ll find an order of their decadently delicious flourless chocolate cake, with an espresso martini chaser, is one sweet way to end the evening.

EASTSIDE ROMANCE

Begin your evening with an early showing at River Cinema 15.  Relax in their heated recliners while enjoying a popular romcom.  When the flick ends, journey across the street to The Blue Moose Bar & Grill.  Located on the popular Boardwalk dining district, this cozy Up North eatery is the perfect place to enjoy some sweet ‘n sassy Norwegian barbecue ribs or canoodle over an order of their scrumptious Bourbon Street pasta.  With a variety of flavors to choose from, quench your thirst with one of their famous Long Island teas.

COLD HANDS WARM HEART

Bundle up, then start your fun-filled afternoon with a twirl or two through the Town Square outdoor ice rink.  The venue may be cool but a freshly brewed cup of coffee or hot chocolate from the nearby Urban Stampede Coffeehouse will quickly warm you up.  Be sure to peruse some of our unique Downtown shops and art galleries…maybe even stop by Bd (formerly Badman Design) or River City Jewelers and see if there may be some sort of bling that sparks an interest.  Stay in the neighborhood and go more casual for dinner at Joe Black’s Bar & Grill.  I recommend the Lavish lavosh or Blackbuster burger, an on-tap brew and a few games of pool.

SPICE THINGS UP

Trying to plan a unique date for you and your mate? Here’s an idea that’s right on target!  Axe-throwing at Northern Air Family Fun Center is one cool way to have a little competitive fun.  Afterward, heat things up with a South of the Border dinner date on the Southside.  Vinyl Taco is an awesome spot to enjoy hot eats while listening to hot tunes from the good old days when LPs were all the rage.  When it comes to the menu, an order of their freshly made tortilla chips, roasted tomato salsa, guacamole and frosty pitcher of margaritas is a perfect way to start out.  Follow that with some tasty street tacos, flavorful fiesta bowl or scrumptious smothered burrito.

SUITES FOR THE SWEET

Looking to really woo your boo?  Go big with a night away from home at Canad Inns Destination Center!  Rent the penthouse or one of their theme suites. Get wild and share the Old West Dakota room with your partner or perhaps a tropical getaway in the South Seas is more to your liking.  Since all of them have Jacuzzis, you can wine and dine while you dip by ordering up room service.
