Celebrate the night 2011 and ring in 2012!


Are you looking for something to do on New Year’s Eve? Why not ring in the New Year at the Alerus Center with Celebrate the Night. Celebrate the Night is an alcohol-free event for the entire family. The event returns to the Alerus Center for another great year, with all events held under one roof. Celebrate the Night includes entertainment and activities for all ages. Food and drink will be available throughout the evening. The Alerus Center will have concession stands open for the event. They will have a variety of sandwiches, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase. Wristbands for entry to the event are on sale at Hugo’s and Valley Dairy stores in the Grand Forks area. Advance cost for the wrist bands are $5 for all ages. The wrist bands will be $8 at the door. Advanced price wrist bands are also available online here. Search for Celebrate the Night. Print your receipt, bring it along on New Year’s Eve, and receive your wristband at the door. Volunteers are needed to help with the event. Volunteer duties may include selling wrist bands, working the doors for individual rooms, helping with the inflatable games or a variety of other duties as needed for the …

It’s tater time in the Forks!


This year marks the 46th Anniversary of a Greater Grand Forks tradition known as Potato Bowl USA. This week will be full of entertaining events centering on our region’s most popular staple crop. There will be tons of great food including potato pancake breakfasts, baked potato bars and, of course, the World’s Largest French Fry Feed. The festivities culminate on Saturday with a parade, tailgate party and University of North Dakota football game. Make sure to bring the whole family out to one of the North Dakota’s best and tastiest celebrations guaranteed to be spudtacular fun for all! Alerus Center celebrates 10 years

The Alerus Center kicked off its ten year anniversary celebration by hosting an open house, on St. Patrick’s Day, with all sorts of tasty treats that show off their fabulous food creation abilities.  The ballroom was packed with locals enjoying the region’s premiere meeting and event center.  There are a number of events taking place in 2011 to celebrate the past ten years, including a Tim McGraw concert on May 17 – tickets are available at The Al has seen over 3.2 million people come through its doors and hosted over 5,500 events, which has had a significant positive impact on our community.  The recent renovations combined with the variety of space options and food and beverage selection, continue to entice groups and events to Grand Forks. I have enjoyed experiencing an array of concerts as well as attending a number of events, over the last eight years I have been in town.  It was amazing seeing Cher, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Fleetwood Mac and others just ten minutes from my house.  I also witnessed two presidential candidates appearing on the same stage, within hours of each other, when then-Senators Obama and Clinton visited Grand Forks during the ND …
