Artist: Kathryn Lipke Vigessa

Commissioned by: University of North Dakota Center for Innovation

Installation: 2005

Medium: Environmental installation of native plants

Part of a sculpture garden titled “Lifecycle” by Kathryn Lipke Vigessa, who has roots in Cooperstown, is set on the south side of the Center for Innovation. The installation includes “Fallen Leaf" (iron, gravel, rock, native grasses and plants, 2005), “Riverwalk” (environmental installation of native plants, 2005), and “Seed From the Innovator’s Garden” (bronze, 2004). This sculpture garden grew out of a desire to create a place where art is integrated with the four-season cycle of prairie grasses, shrubs, and wildflowers.
