Listen to what others say after their events in Greater Grand Forks

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves

Midwesterners are notorious for not being good at tooting our own horn; so, we’ll let these clients and visitors who trumpeted our SimplyGrand services do it for us!

“On behalf of the ND County Auditor and Treasurers Associations, thank you for the outstanding service you provided for our 2011 convention. I had no previous experience with the Greater Grand Forks Convention & Visitors Bureau and I was very impressed and surprised by the services you provided. Thank you for the assistance in planning for the convention and all the complimentary services, the welcome on the digital billboard, the beautiful banner, the citywide welcome signage, the name badges and the information packets. The additional supplies that you brought over on Wednesday, along with the banner, were very thoughtful. Thank you, also, for sending a copy of what was displayed on the digital billboard. The display looked outstanding. The GGF Convention & Visitors Bureau went above and beyond my expectation. Thanks again for your assistance for making the convention a successful event.” ND County Auditors Association, Debbie Nelson, Past President
“The Mid-America Credit Union Association would like to thank you for the warm welcome we received from the Greater Grand Forks Convention & Visitors Bureau during our stay in June. We were assisted with tremendous support from the time we chose Grand Forks as our site to host our event. The Grand Forks CVB helped us identify a location and found blocks of rooms throughout the city for our attendees. They also assisted us in finding a suitable family outing for our attendees as well as a venue to host a golf tournament. Due to a cancellation, we needed a color guard at the last minute and at one point a CVB associate was calling her family members to see if they could assist in any way, because she knew the importance of this to our event.“We went through many sales associates at one of our venues, and the CVB was there to make sure nothing changed for us. They notified area businesses of our arrival so they could also welcome our attendees. They made banners and sent out news releases to get media coverage of our event. When our special guests arrived, they were greeted with a plate of chippers, summer sausage, crackers, a bottle of wine, and a message welcoming them to the great city of Grand Forks. The services provided by the Grand Forks CVB were nothing but top-notch. We had nothing but great reviews from our attendees and hope to return for another conference in a few years." Mid-America Credit Union Association, Amy Jo Johnson, Education Coordinator
“Thank you for your help with our recent Blue Knights North Dakota 1 Chapter conference. Part of the International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, the Midwest Regional Conference membership includes eight U.S. state and one Canadian province. This conference was our second, and once again we were able to put on an extremely successful event because of the support of our area vendors. The conference had 91 registered guests, who were warmly received. As a result of your generous contribution, we were able to put on an outstanding conference that was, as one of our guests said: ‘one of the best I’ve attended in 25 years.’ The extreme generosity of our contributors once again demonstrated the high degree of our North Dakota spirit and strong sense of community we have here in the Red River Valley. With your help, we made the region proud and hopefully set a high bar for other conferences sponsors to reach.” Blue Knights ND 1, Mark Ellingson, President
“Thank you for all your help in planning the conference for the UND Institute for Borderland Studies. Your help was invaluable because it allowed me to focus on content rather than logistics. Thank you also for hosting the dinner on Saturday night.” UND Institute for Borderland Studies, Kyle Conway
“The Greater Grand Forks CVB has been an invaluable partner for UND Athletics, not just in assisting and helping us to plan events, but by helping incoming teams and visitors plan their stays in Grand Forks. We have received nothing but positive feedback from people across the country who come to Grand Forks to play against UND or participate in tournaments and events hosted by UND Athletics. It makes our lives so much easier.” University of North Dakota Athletics, Sean Johnson, Assistant Athletic Director
“Thank you for your support during the Zone 4 Fair Convention. We appreciate the fantastic, glittery wine goblets. What an impression they had on the attendees, and now they have something fun to remember us by. Also, thank you for the kind welcome address and great service from your staff members. All of the banners, signs and visitor information helped transform our meeting space into a place very welcoming for our visitors. They convention was a huge success and the CVB’s contributions were greatly appreciated. The attendees come from all parts of ND, SD, MN, WI and Canada, and I know they left Grand Forks with fond memories.” Greater Grand Forks Fair, Monica Evavold, Manager
"As our presenting sponsor, the CVB was a major catalyst in making Rollin' on the River a reality. In addition to granting us significant funding, the CVB also provided additional marketing and publicity, banners and signage at both our main event as well as smaller marketing-related events and a dedicated point of contact who served on our planning committee, helped us solidify our decisions and lay the foundation for a successful inaugural event. We are extremely grateful to the CVB for the role they played in helping to establish our event and looking forward to many more years of continued partnership!" Rollin' On The River, Laura Jelinek
“The CVB and its staff members have been a terrific help with our multiple events over the past several months. One staff member contacted hotels and negotiated rates to provide many options to our attendees. She followed up with each hotel prior to the teams’ arrivals to confirm all details. When trouble shooting was needed, she handled that quickly and professionally. The mini video cameras were a hit with our event attendees!" University of North Dakota Athletics, Scott Herring, Associate Athletic Director/Chief Financial Officer
“It’s absolutely wonderful working with Greater Grand Forks CVB staff members. They provide us with snacks and drinks for incoming teams during our games. They allow us to use their flip cameras to record our games so we can play back and analyze our sport. They put us in contact with other organizations that are helpful to our sport and needs. Their monetary grants have helped us cover costs as a beginning league. They are very informative and excited about our sport and our league. We have benefited from their advertising blasts, which attract many people to support and cheer on our team. I never realized what the CVB does—until now. They are very beneficial to our city and state." Forx Roller Derby League, Cheryl Lawson (aka Schmylee Rukus, her roller derby persona), Director of Operations
