When the Grand Forks Store first opened in 1989, it was considered the flagship store of the Scheels corporation at just over 35,000 square feet. The 120,000 square foot expansion, which opened in 2014, brought the Grand Forks community a shopping experience like no other. Unlike a typical sporting goods store or department store, the new Grand Forks Scheels is a collection of entertainment venues, as well as women's, men's, youth, specialty, and sport and game shops. Brand-name concept shops by Nike, adidas, Under Armour, Columbia, and The North Face will keep you active in any season. Each shop is staffed with experts who are passionate and knowledgeable about their sports.
The new Grand Forks Scheels features boutiques ranging from technical running gear and the latest fashion sportswear to spectacular hunting and fishing shops. The sport shoe, hiking boot, and casual footwear selection is the largest in the area with everything from toddlers to serious climbers, and selections ranging from beach sandals to fashion boots for women. For passionate local sports fans, the Grand Forks store has the largest selection of clothing, caps, flags, and hats to cheer on your favorite local college and professional teams. Outdoor enthusiasts can experience world-class shops including golf, bike, ski, paddle, and sport and game shops.
Greeting you at this new store is Gramma Ginna's, a deli and fudge shop, which serves 24 flavors of fresh homemade fudge, Bavarian Roasted Almonds and Starbucks® coffee. There is also a large selection of made to order breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads and soup to satisfy your appetite.
Special attractions include a nostalgic shooting gallery, a Big Buck Hunter simulator, and a 5 sport simulator with sports including basketball, soccer, hockey, baseball and football, where customers can test their skills. There is also a "try before you buy" archery range and golf simulator at the expanded Grand Forks Scheels. You can also find our expert bow technicians at the range assisting customers and addressing your bow tuning needs. These carefully chosen amenities make this shopping adventure unlike anything the retail customer has ever experienced.
